i always describe myself as an old soul in a young body. i mean, how many people do you know write books in their spare time?! i started writing when i was little. i'd write poems about flowers and my cat, and short stories about pokemon and silly things.
it was when i was in middleschool, however, when i really became the bookworm. i discovered my love for fiction and i'd literally do nothing but sit down and read in the corner with my lunch everyday. then, when i was in grade eight, i got so bored of my existence (because of the magical fantasy books filled with romance and adventure i was consuming) that i began to write.
i started to write half a science fiction novel (which literally was out of this world). and...i simply fell in love with writing. (i was around 14). during the years i wrote short stories and came up with many book ideas, majorly project.city of ziel, which still has my heart till this day (and which still needs to be finished lol). i then began to create writing content a couple years later when i began my fantasy novel many of you may know as project.blackbirds (or project.bb). i started that during the last year of highschool (i was 16) and would write it during my classes (naughty i know).
since then i have put down the books and picked up my laptop - writing and finishing my first book draft a year later (project. i first met you in a graveyard). following, i wrote another few drafts (project.ghost, project.prison and project.o), now specifically focussing on writing and editing ghostcide as my debut! as i showed in previous slides, i have 5 projects...but in reality i have a lot more (estimated at least 9 books i want to write) - but isn't this every writer ever?
hehe hope you enjoyed my little journey. i love creating because its the essence of who i am - as. a child of a God who created me and this world. i think its a blessing, and i hope to never give it up...

my writing dreams are to become a published author and someone's favourite author. i have the aim to self-publish my debut novel, ghostcide, and perhaps a poetry collection. in terms of traditional publishing - i hope to traditional publish one fantasy project i have been writing. so...this means i want to be a HYBRID AUTHOR! both publishing my personal projects, and working on my fantasy books too.
i also just want to write a book like my favourite book - piranesi by suzanna clarke. i want to get better at my prose and become a more confident writer as i mature with life.
and of course, i am not sure if i'll be able to, but i truly want to at least finish from cover to cover, all the project ideas i have (see above!). i think it would be so rewarding - being able to have all my books as manuscripts, that my stories are written and said and done.

sometimes its fun to write a new book just because of the vibes (i do this all the time). but eventually you burn out. having a clear idea on what type of message you want your story to tell will help get you through actually finishing the book.
sometimes this is hard as you try and discover your book. as you write, the book may tell you what it is suppossed to mean. most stories can be reflections of important world issues, lessons characters may learn or bringing to light a new perspective on the world.
surrounding your story by a handful of themes will help SHAPE your book and therefore help you make plot and character decisions that will reinforce this message. this will also help a lot with subtle theme foreshadowing, and also allow for a stronger first draft which will help you understand the story ever more. i usually blurt out the message of the story in my brainstorming page and also list potential themes or tropes i want to explore and how this relates to me! this gives your story that foundation, so you can continue writing and become a better author because of it.
